Partnerships
Advocates for African American Elders
Advocates for African American Elders is an outreach and engagement partnership of governmental, nonprofit, and community groups whose aim is to help older African Americans in Los Angeles advocate for their health and mental health needs.
Members of Advocates for African American Elders include community activists and leaders from the Roybal Institute, the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Pacific Clinics, the Alzheimer's Association, AARP, Ward Economic Development Corporation, California Senior Leaders and local churches.
Project HEAL
In partnership with the Roybal Institute and local and national non-profit organizations, AltaMed Health Services Corporation established Project HEAL. The health, education, advocacy and leadership project aims to inform, empower and train individuals to become change agents and leaders in the promotion of greater community health in underserved communities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The institute is specifically engaged in collaborating with AltaMed on policy initiatives and providing research information about health disparities affecting older adults.
AltaMed is Southern California's premier network of community clinics, senior care programs, and health and human services for families.
The Roybal Institute intends to foster future partnerships with other non-profit foundations, social-service agencies, government entities, schools, hospitals and businesses throughout Southern California that are dedicated to helping students pursue careers that serve older adults.
