Dahlia Fuentes earned her doctorate from the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. As a doctoral student she was the recipient of numerous awards, including the SAMHSA-funded Minority Fellowship Program with the Council for Social Work Education and the Pre-Dissertation Award in Geriatric Social Work from The John A. Hartford Foundation. Her research interests include social support, health, mental health, and access to care among the minority older adult population. She is especially interested in studying disparities in mental health treatment, service utilization, research participation, and outcomes among minority older adults. Her current research focuses on issues relating to depression disclosure among older adult Latinos.
