María Aranda, an associate professor at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work a senior scientist at the USC Edward R. Roybal Institute on Aging, was named to the board of directors of St. Barnabas Senior Services (SBSS).
SBSS is the oldest senior service agency in Los Angeles. It provides services at various locations throughout Los Angeles County, including four senior centers, 14 community meal sites and several senior housing complexes and community facilities. The organization’s comprehensive programming promotes healthy and holistic aging, prolongs independence, and enhances the dignity and overall quality of life for over 18,000 older adults annually.
Aranda has served on numerous local and national boards and committees dedicated to the enhancement of practice, policy, research and advocacy related to underserved minority populations.
