The USC Roybal Institute research team of Kexin Yu, Shinyi Wu, Pey-Jiuan Lee, Hsin-Yi Hsiao, Yi-Chuan Tseng and Iris Chi were honored with the American Public Health Association (APHA) 2018 Nobuo Maeda International Research Award for their paper “Longitudinal Effects of a mHealth Program for Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes in a Rural Area in Taiwan.” The award is for international research topics and is intended to recognize and further the career of leaders in international research and policy development.
Yu, a doctoral student in social work, accepted the honor at APHA’s Annual Meeting this November in San Diego, California. There were nearly 13,000 attendees at this year’s meeting, which is considered the largest and most influential gathering of public health professionals in the nation.
