Aranda Receives Subaward from Partners in Care Foundation
Maria Aranda, an associate professor at the USC School of Social Work and a senior scientist at the USC Roybal Institute, is the principal investigator on a project that was recently funded by a subaward from the Partners in Care Foundation.
Over the next two years, the project will take an in-depth look at how networks of community-based organizations serving older adults and people with disabilities address business and organizational processes and structures to build new services lines for their patient populations in the wake of health care reform. With the guidance and assistance of Partners in Care Foundation, Aranda’s USC research team will assist in the development of case studies and learning tool kits based on lessons learned and successful business models.
The SCAN Foundation Supports AAAE Events
Advocates for African American Elders at the USC Edward R. Roybal Institute on Aging received a six-month funding award from The SCAN Foundation to further support its efforts to educate older adults about California’s Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI) through community outreach events. The CCI is an Affordable Care Act program that attempts to coordinate the delivery of Medicare and Medi-Cal health benefits into a single system for those eligible for both with the goal of improving the integration of all forms of care.
Karen Lincoln, an associate professor at the USC School of Social Work and a senior scientist at the USC Roybal Institute, is the founder and chair of AAAE.
