Roybal Senior Scientist Vern Bengtson‘s Families and Faith: How Religion is Passed Down Across Generations was selected as the recipient of the 2015 Richard Kalish Innovative Publication Award from the Gerontological Society of America (GSA). The award recognizes insightful and innovative publications on aging and life course development in the behavioral and social sciences. Bengtson will receive the award at the 2015 GSA Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be held Nov. 18-22, 2015, in Orlando, Florida.
Families and Faith was also the winner of the 2015 Sociology of Religion Distinguished Book Award by the American Sociological Association (ASA). The award honors a book that makes an outstanding contribution to the sociology of religion. Bengtson will receive the award at the 110th ASA Annual Meeting, which will be held Aug. 22-25, 2015, in Chicago, Illinois.
