Crack cocaine use among aging Mexican American men with heroin use histories: motivations and polydrug use patterns

The analyzed qualitative data collected through an ethnographic study on the motivations for opioid-stimulant (crack) polydrug use among 60 Mexican American men aged 45 and older with long-term heroin trajectories. Participants were recruited from low-income Mexican American urban communities for semi-structured interviews using respondent-driven sampling to gain a more in-depth understanding of patterns and motivations of polydrug use among this older population.
