Statistics show that African Americans and Latinos are respectively 2 to 1.5 times more at risk for ADRD than non-Latino whites. Studies also show that Asian Americans access ADRD care at a more severe stage and with more significant neuropsychiatric symptoms than non-Latino whites. Research indicates that older adults from historically underrepresented and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds have often lagged behind with respect to the benefits of scientific advances.

The first installment in series will take place in 2019. The purpose of this year’s conference will be to provide broad knowledge of ADRD, health disparities, state-of-the-art research methodologies including lifestyle interventions, and stakeholder engagement.
