The Digital Divide Exacerbates Disparities in Latinx Recruitment for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Online Education During COVID-19
This paper focuses on the recruitment of Latinx into online education to 1) document the recruitment and retention process during the COVID-19 pandemic, and 2) describe the facilitators and barriers to participation in virtual events. Authors used data collected from the USC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) online educational events on dementia, aging, clinical trials, and caregiver support. Results suggests that the digital divide widens disparities in recruitment of Latinx people for online education on Alzheimer’s disease. Online technologies may pose barriers to health information access.
