Dr. Kyriakos “Kokos” Markides gave an overview of findings from his research and other studies on the health of older Hispanics.
Dr. Markides is Principal Investigator of the Hispanic EPESE (Established Population for the Epidemiological Study of the Elderly), a longitudinal study of the health of Mexican American elderly from five Southwestern states. Since 1993 his interviews have allowed University of Texas Medical Branch researchers to compile the nation’s primary source of information about the health of older Mexican Americans.
